Gaillimh le Gaeilge has announced this year’s finalists for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh. At a meeting which was held over Zoom, there was much discussion between the moltóirí as to who would be selected to go through to the next stage of the Gradam and move one step closer to becoming The New Tribe of Galway.

Gaillimh le Gaeilge is taking to the airwaves this autumn for Galway’s very own bilingual business award - Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh.

The closing date for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh nominations, is tomorrow February 21 at 5.30pm. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the longest running award of its kind in Ireland, organised by Gaillimh le Gaeilge in partnership with the Galway Advertiser and with support from TG4 and the Galway Chamber.

Galway’s bilingual business award, Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2020, run by Gaillimh le Gaeilge, is now open for nominations. This award, which is the longest running award of its kind in Ireland, is organised by Gaillimh le Gaeilge, in partnership with t he Galway Advertiser and with support from TG4 and the Galway Chamber. It is named in honour of the late Seosamh Ó hÓgartaigh, founding member and company secretary of Gaillimh le Gaeilge.

Following eighteen entries, thirteen finalists, four categories and two rounds of judging, Sweeney Oil, was announced by Seán Kyne TD, Príomh-Aoire an Rialtais agus Aire Stáit don Ghaeilge, don Ghaeltacht agus do na hOileáin as the overall winner of Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh for the year ahead.

Gearrliosta Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh was officially announced by the Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr Níall McNelis at a press event which took place in the Galway Chamber last week. Thirteen Galway city based businesses and organisations, representing a wide range of sectors from across the city are through to the next round of the Gradam and all are in with a chance to be crowned the next new tribe of Galway.
