A night of dancing and fundraising planned for local GAA clubs

St Josephs Football Club and Bealnamulla Ladies Football Club have come up with a fun way to raise valuable funding for their clubs. Strictly Fun Dancing was launched this week - where 14 couples from across Athlone are currently being put through their paces for 10 weeks of gruelling dance lessons of modern ballroom and Latin American dance. Each couple will dance the modern ballroom quickstep, foxtrot, and a jive, taught by professional teacher Lukas Mierzwa to hopefully make a great night’s entertainment for all and a fundraising success.

Claremorris No Name Club hosts Valentine’s masquerade ball

“The best night of our lives,” and “When is the next one, can we go pleeeaase,” were just some of the quotes from the guests who attended the Claremorris No Name Club inaugural Valentine’s Masquerade Ball in The McWilliam Park Hotel on Wednesday, February 13. Four hundred and eighty teenagers and their leaders arrived from No Name Clubs from all over the country in their Sunday best to attend an event that is set to become a headline feature in the national No Name Club calendar of events.
