Irish Water and Mayo County Council have apologised to everyone affected by unplanned outages in the Ballina area this week and thanked them for their patience while work was ongoing.

Ballina Arts Centre’s ongoing literary series The Moy Sessions continues this evening, Friday, with a reading by two Mayo-based writers, poet Geraldine Mitchell and novelist Elizabeth Reape at 8pm.

With just five weeks to go, planning for Ballina Salmon Festival is well under way with a packed programme of family-friendly events confirmed for Mayo’s largest community festival. Girlhood is the collaborative result of a photographic project between the photographer and the Maughan family that documents the family’s special and intimate occasions from 2007 to 2016.

The possibility of a 'significant' portion of the Mary Robinson Archive being housed in Ballina is something that is still alive, and if there is support for that it is something Mayo County Council will discuss with NUIG, the chief executive of Mayo County Council said this week.

Ballina Town are the last Mayo side involved in the FAI Junior Cup and they will fly the flag for the county on Sunday when they host Roscommon outfit Boyle Celtic in the sixth round of the national competition at 2pm in Pete Murray Park in Belleek.
