Yesterday, Thursday, nearly 300 volunteers from Fidelity Investments Ireland travelled to Athlone to transform a dilapidated wasteland into a beautiful and tranquil space for use by members of the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) and the local community.

Kilmartins N6 Service Station and The Grove Service Station, Athlone have made a huge difference to people experiencing homelessness right throughout the Midlands by helping to raise over €7,000 for Midlands Simon Community.

Cllr John Naughten has called on Roscommon County Council to carry out works to improve the condition of the Clonown to Athlone road describing it as a “traffic hazard that needs to be addressed urgently”.
