Two events being run in conjunction with this are a tour of Athlone town and an exhibition of children’s art, and both events are free of charge.

Athlone architecture projects nominated for awards

Two Athlone architecture projects are among the 55 projects on the shortlist for this year’s Irish Architecture Awards, which was recently announced by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI). The projects are the Engineering and Informatics building in Athlone Institute of Technology, designed by McCullough Mulvin Architects; and the Athlone Army Memorial, designed by Keith Williams Architects. Both were completed last year.
