Are you ready for Tonabrocky?

The Tonabrucky 6km Challenge celebrates its fifth year of existence this June and organisers are calling on all runners, walkers, and strollers to take part and make this year one to remember. The race, which is hosted by Rahoon/Newcastle Hurling Club, will take place on Saturday June 6 at 6pm.

First ever Breaffy 10k this Sunday

The inaugural Breaffy 10k will take place this Sunday, August 28, as part of the Breaffy Blast Festival. The 10k walk/jog and run is being organised by Breaffy Community/ Breaffy GAA and Castlebar Fit for Life in aid of Western Alzheimers. This community-inspired event is aimed at runners and walkers of all abilities and levels of fitness over a 10km circuit. The predominantly flat route starts behind the national school in the village and extends in a loop along mainly picturesque country roads to finish at the front of the school.

Breaffy festival set to 'Blast' off

Breaffy is the place to be next weekend (August 26, 27 and 28) with the inaugural Breaffy Blast Festival set to offer something for everyone.

The Bogtrotters Marathon - be part of its first year!

Growing numbers are registering for The Bogtrotters Marathon, a new event taking place in Strokestown, Co Roscommon on July 24 for runners and walkers of all abilities.

•Oughterard Badminton Club is running a club open tournament on Sunday at 1pm at the Oughterard Community Centre, open to all players in divisions four and five. Entry fee is €10 per player, each player drawn and partnered with players from different clubs. To register contact Richard Gibbons 087-2847997, or email [email protected]. On Wednesday February 25, the county badminton board will host a special coaching and mini-tournament for division six players at 8pm in GLTC.
