The Galway Men’s Team won County Gold for the third year in a row, under manager Siobhan Kelleher, sharing the podium with Donegal and Kerry. The squad were led by Justin Lane, the inspirational captain of the men's team, and he also won the Pole Vault in a fine 2.30m clearance. He was fifth in the weight for Distance Throw.

It was one of a host of medals for Galway athletes over the two days of competition.

Galway athletes and clubs were once again on the podium on the second day of the 2019 Connacht Cross Country Championships in Belleek Woods park in Ballina, Co Mayo, on Sunday.
