Last week saw The Quakers winning the Prince Bar’s battle of the band contest. They fought off tough competition from local lads Solid Mind and Dublin band The Knots. They battled their way through the heats, seeing off some very talented acts, along the way.

BEAT Workshops, a music technology course for secondary school students, is set to return for the summer to Athlone Institute of Technology, and will be running five-day workshops in the dedicated recording studios at the AIT from July 4 to August 12.
