DID Electrical, Ireland’s premier electrical retailer, is challenging hurling clubs in Kilkenny with its new skills test.
Having teamed up with James Stephens, DID electrical launched its inaugural skills challenge on September 16, in Langtons Hotel in Kilkenny
The event should prove to be a magnificent contest for all juvenile hurlers as the game focuses on five key demographics in hurling. Hurlers will be testing their ground striking, free taking, ground cutting, ball control, and penalty taking. All in all, the ten clubs involved will really be put to the wire.
Each club has one representative from the u-eight, u-nine, u-10, u-11, and u-12 who is selected by a series of competitions within the individual clubs.
This year the clubs involved are James Stephens, Dicksboro, O’Loughlin Gaels, Erin’s Own, Conahy Shamrocks, Clara, John Lockes (Callan ), and from Dublin Kilkmacud Crokes and Na Fianna. James Stephens, is among the best juvenile clubs in the country, with seven All-Ireland Feile titles under their belts. With such a great selection of clubs, the day really will be an exhibition of the core skills of hurling. Definitely not to be missed by anyone interested in GAA.
