Dining out in Kilkenny has never been so tasty

Kilkenny has a wonderful selection of restaurants from which to choose for a good night out and we are also lucky to have such a high standard of good eateries to choose from.

Kilkenny caters for both tourists and locals alike and particularly during the summer months things can get very busy in our local restaurants and therefore early booking is advisable.

Kilkenny has a lot to offer and depending on what you like to eat, you can go for cheap and cheerful, Asian, Mediterranean, Italian or just plain and simple pub grub all options of which are in abundance in Kilkenny.

Fleva

Fleva has been described as a modern Irish restaurant with a contemporary twist. The decor is all in line with feng shui and incorporates vibrant colours and comfortable surrounds.

Award winning head chef Michael Thomas is a Kilkenny native and has recently scooped a Catex Ireland 2009 award.

Fleva has been featured in the Bridgestone Guide and also has been recommended by Georgina Campbell.

Fleva is the perfect restaurant to bring your family or friends. Owned by Kayrin Connery for the past ten years, Fleva has become a mainstay on the Kilkenny restaurant trail for locals and tourists alike.

Zuni

If excellent food and a contemporary and stylish setting is what you are looking for, then Zuni is just the place for you.

Offering consistently good food from chef Maria Raftery and her team of chefs who mostly hail from Kilkenny, you can rest assured that your culinary and dietary needs are in good hands. Maria has been at Zuni for nine years - almost as long as the restaurant is open.

This year Zuni is heading for its tenth birthday in Kilkenny, and proprietor Paul Byrne is delighted with its success to date.

In recent times he has offered Zuni as a wedding venue which the bride and groom can book out in its entirety for their big day. Weddings are well catered for at Zuni as they can host the reception for up to 70 guests and offer top quality, newly refurbished accommodation to boot.

On a daily basis, Zuni is also open for lunch with soup and a gourmet sandwich with fries for just €10.95.

Their Sunday lunch special is also proving very popular at €18.95 for a two course meal and €23.95 for three courses.

An early bird menu is available all night from Sunday to Wednesday for just €23.50.

It should also be noted that Zuni is once again listed in the Top 100 Restaurants in the Bridgestone Guide for the seventh year running.

So with these options on your doorstep there is no excuse to have to eat in this weekend as both restaurant are offering recession-busting prices for the times we live in.
