Galway company opens €7 million plant in China

Galway-based company CF Tooling opened a €7 million production facility in China last week to serve a major global contract with IBM.

CF Tooling, which has manufacturing operations in Athenry, will now build 500 to 600 server racks a week at its Dongguan plant for the China market for IBM.

The company which also has operations in the UK, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines, employs 1,000 people and in 2007 had a turnover of €63 million. It is forecast that this year’s turnover will rise to €77 million and next year it is expected to hit €101 million because of revenues from China. Its customers include IBM, American Power Conversion, Ingersoll Rand, Linde Carrier, Toshiba, Hitachi, and Glen Dimplex.
