Business People - A profile of one of Galway’s leading personalities

REGINA GREENAN - Manager and Director - Energié

This week we talk to the manager and director of Energié gym in Briarhill Business Park, Galway.

Regina Greenan, who has a background in business, economics, and law, has run the women’s only gym for almost a year. Regina has always had a keen interest in health and fitness and wanted to get into the business side of the industry.

Energié is one of the leading health club organisations in the UK so when she heard they were moving to Galway, Regina jumped at the chance of running the place.

Energié fitness for women is the first full format women’s gym to open in Galway and with a large variety of equipment and classes, it has experienced phenomenal success in the last year.

Energié provides members with a six-week fitness programme, circuit training, classes such as yoga, belly dancing, aerobics, and pilates, a wide range of holistic treatments such as Indian head massage and hot stones massage, and there is also an on site professional make-up artist and kids classes. Non-members can also avail of the classes and holistic treatments.

The six week programme guarantees results with support and consultations throughout the course duration. Clients are provided with a step by step fitness programme and a full evaluation to cater for each individual’s health and fitness needs. Nutritional advice is also provided, as well as one-to-one personal training. The qualified Energié staff also provide continual motivation and support for every member throughout their time with them.

Regina says that they work on a personal level with all members and are always there to give support to current and past members.

Most of the classes are free to members, but everyone is welcome to come along to join the weekly classes at anytime. All of the relaxing holistic treatments are available at a discount to members and are also open seven days a week to non-members.

Regina herself oversees the day-to-day running of the business. She also looks after the marketing side of the company in areas such as promotions, corporate outreach, and organising social events. She is responsible for managing all the staff at Energié and ensuring that they reach targets at the end of each month.

So, what are the future plans?

“We would like to introduce even more classes and hope to have our pole-dancing classes up and running very soon. We want to introduce hen party packages where a pole dancing instructor and make-up artist can go along and teach people at home.”

Regina says they also want to build up and expand their children’s classes, which they run two nights a week.
