The Save Mountbellew Agricultural Show campaign has been launched to try to ensure a future for one of the oldest and most popular agricultural shows in County Galway.

The 49th Oughterard show will take place at the end of next week and prospective entrants are encouraged to move fast as today marks the deadline for applications. The committee have yet again put together a sterling line up which is sure to attract patrons from all over the country.

Next Sunday sees the annual Castlegannon Show taking place at Knockmoylan, half way between Ballyhale and Mullinavat. As in previous years, this great family day out is being held for the benefit of the Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team, for whom the show has raised over €10,000 in the last two years alone.
