Major success at O’Donnellan & Joyce auction

O’Donnellan & Joyce recorded seven sales when it placed nine properties under the hammer at last Friday’s auction. Colm O’Donnellan of auctioneers O’Donnellan & Joyce said they were delighted with the prices achieved and the tremendous response and bidding in the room. He said auctions are proving to be the best method of obtaining a sale on properties, and all the properties on offer had very realistic reserve prices, and the market decides the true value.

O’Donnellan & Joyce held one of the biggest auctions in the country in the Victoria Hotel, Eyre Square, Galway, on Friday when six properties went up for auction. The auction room was full to capacity and the atmosphere was electric from the people in the room. There was also a large number of people unable to get into the room, such was the density of the crowd.

Two men jailed for ‘thuggish behaviour’ at hospital A&E

Two men who caused severe chaos at the Accident and Emergency department of Mayo General Hospital in aggressive incidents which occurred less than a week apart— in which the men were extremely abusive, were forcefully removed by security, and caused criminal damage to the outside glass door of the department, were both jailed by Judge Mary Devins at Castlebar District Court on Wednesday for this “thuggish behaviour”.

All eyes on O’Donnellan & Joyce’s first auction of the season

O’Donnellan & Joyce is now synonymous with auctions in Galway and the company is looking forward to its first set of autumn auctions on Friday October 9. All auctions are held in the Victoria Hotel, just off Eyre Square. O’Donnellan & Joyce does a five week lead into all auction properties, which means that open viewings have been up and running for the past number of weeks.
