This awards scheme, organised in association with Fáilte Ireland, was designed to highlight the importance of the Irish breakfast to international visitors to Ireland and domestic travellers, and aims to support the use of Irish foods and quality produce as part of the Irish breakfast on offer.

Galway’s Food & Drink Trade Showcase to feature producers from across the west

A host of food producers from across the west will showcase everything from honey to cheese and sea cucumber to craft beer – all aimed at increasing the range on offer in local shops, cafes and restaurants. They are all part of Galway’s Food & Drink Showcase, organised by the Local Enterprise Office Galway and Bord Iascaigh Mhara and taking place at the Galway Hooker Brewery in Oranmore on Monday March 6.

Dine at the Dining Room for children with disabilities

Local chef Kevin Stirzaker and his team at Dining Room on Bridge Street, Castlebar, are holding a charity event to benefit the Enable Ireland Safari Club for children with disabilities. Popular publican Mick Byrnes of Byrnes’ pub, will be guest chef for the night under the watchful eye of Kevin and his team. Up to 70 guests will be wined and dined with a specially selected menu over two dinner sittings on Tuesday, at 6.30pm and 9.00pm. Local food and beverage suppliers are also supporting the night.
