I had fully intended taking part myself, but at about 8.30 last Saturday morning I got cold feet and cancelled my booking for the comedy workshop at Cleeres. Fox goes Black
Congratulations to Paul Fox from the Athlone Taekwon-Do School who received his Black Belt last weekend after an 18-year martial arts odyssey. Paul was put through his paces by Senior Master Anthony Phelan (8th degree) at the Republic of Ireland Taekwon-Do Association’s second biannual black belt exam in Dublin. The martial artist originally started training in Bray in 1990 and took a scenic route through several Taekwon-Do schools before settling in Athlone in 2005.

Energie Fitness hosts fundraiser for hospice
Energie Fitness for Women will host a bring and buy cake sale and coffee morning next Monday to help raise funds for the Galway Hospice. All proceeds will be added to the fundraising efforts of instructor Sheila Stapleton, who will take part in the 2009 Flora Women's Mini Marathon.
