Galway Community College of Further Education (GCC) continues to offer full-time courses in a wide variety of career areas designed as a step towards skilled employment, in preparation of starting an apprenticeship, or progression to further and higher education. All one-year courses offer a mix of blended learning, with work experience which gives the opportunity to people, who are unsure of their career path, to taste a vocational area before committing to a longer course. These courses are aimed at Leaving Certificate graduates, mature learners, and anyone finding themselves unemployed or facing uncertain job security, this is the perfect time to reevaluate their options regarding their future career paths.

GCC secretarial course is an extremely popular course due to its continued success rate as 85 per cent of its graduates obtain jobs in the secretarial sector within six months of graduating.

Galway Community College (GCC) is now taking applications for all its Level 5 and 6 QQI accredited further education courses. Applications for all courses can be completed on www.galwaycc.ie, where information about modules, course qualification, progression opportunities, and fees can be viewed. Each course page has the email address of the course coordinator, who can be contacted to get more specific information about your preferred area of study. All courses are full-time, usually four days in college with one day on work experience in local businesses and industry.

The college extends a warm invitation to everyone — school leavers, mature students, adults considering returning to education, teachers, and parents — to go along to the open day and explore the exciting and career-focused full-time courses commencing in September.

Galway Community College is holding a first year open day on Thursday February 22 from 4pm to 5pm. Senior cycle applicants are also invited to attend with teachers and career guidance counsellors present to give advice and answer any questions students or parents may have.
