NUI Galway will hold its annual postgraduate open day next Tuesday from 12 noon to 3pm in the Bailey Allen Hall, Áras na Mac Léinn. This open day is an opportunity for professionals, graduates, and current undergraduates who are focusing on their future, with the aim of upgrading their qualification, broadening their skills set, increasing their specialist knowledge, and ultimately improving their job prospects and earning power.

Professor Timothy O'Brien, Dean of the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences at NUI Galway and consultant endocrinologist at Galway University Hospitals, has received the Mayo Clinic Distinguished Alumni Award. The award was established by the Mayo Clinic Board of Trustees in 1981 to acknowledge and show appreciation for exceptional contributions of Mayo Clinic alumni to the field of medicine.

NUI Galway is calling all wannabe engineers to participate in a free full-day family event, Engineering Our Future: Family Fun Day, which will take place this Saturday as part of Engineers Week. The event will run from 10am to 4pm in the university's Alice Perry Engineering Building.

Athlone Institute of Technology has been contracted by the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop the world’s first large-scale, zero-gravity 3D printing machine for use on the International Space Station as part of a wider European consortium which includes German aerospace company Sonaca Group, BEEVERYCREATIVE, a Portuguese 3D printer provider, and OHB, a leading German Space and Technology Group.

NUI Galway's annual postgraduate open day, taking place on Tuesday November 6, will feature more than 170 full and part-time postgraduate taught programmes along with dozens of research masters and doctoral research options. The event will take place in the university's Bailey Allen Hall from 12 noon to 3pm.

THE THEME of the returned emigrant has driven landmark Irish plays such as John B Keane’s The Field, Brian Friel’s The Loves Of Cass Maguire, and Tom Murphy’s Conversations On A Homecoming.

NISO Midland branch held their presentation of certificates for the ‘Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety’ course in the Prince of Wales hotel in Athlone. Hosted by Athlone Institute of Technology from February to June, 16 participants successfully completed the course.
