The Festival Big Top is set to join a list of iconic festivals that are hosting great musical talent this summer. Following their enchanting performance at this year’s Glastonbury music festival, American group Bon Iver will bring their haunting melodies from their critically acclaimed album For Emma, Forever Ago, to the Festival Big Top on Thursday, July 23 at 8.30pm. Supporting Bon Iver at their Galway performance is Alela Diane, one of America’s most captivating contemporary singer/songwriters who has also just performed on Glastonbury’s The Park Stage. Following her performance at this years Glastonbury and having already caused a huge stir with her new release To Be Still, Alela Diane’s show with Bon Iver is the most highly anticipated musical performance in Galway this summer.

Danny Byrnes is to become a Mecca for music lovers this Saturday, July 18, when Record Fairs Ireland hosts its second major fair of the year in Mullingar. The group was originally established in the Westmeath town, and since the first fair of the year there in April they have been touring the country, hosting record fairs in most of Ireland’s major towns and cities.

Ballina Arts Centre is delighted to announce the return this year of its annual Kindermusic Summer Camp for Children. Running on the week of Monday August 10 to Friday August 14, this five-day workshop is an engaging introduction to understanding the important elements of music, based on the Kodaly method. Under the direction of Edel McDonnell, each workshop lasts for 90 minutes and promises lots of fun activities during the week with a concert on the final day for parents, family and friends.
