Kilkenny’s Mount Juliet golf course has been again voted Ireland's top parkland course by a panel of 55 experienced golfers in Backspin magazine's third biennial Irish golf course rankings poll.

It was celebrations all round for the staff of Uncle Sam’s Bar at the Mill Times Hotel and The Porter House, Bridge Street, Westport who both picked up awards in the 2011 Licensing World Bar Awards. Joe O’Malley is the proud owner of both pubs. The awards were presented at a glittering black tie event attended by over 300 members of the Irish pub and licensed trade in the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin.
