The year ahead promises to be a busy one for Erin’s Own GAA Club, Castlecomer, as it prepares to take advantage of its recent success in winning a €5,000 Texaco Sportstars Bursary.

A painting entitled ‘Fruits of the Season’ by Clare Lynch, age 16, a pupil at Loreto College Mullingar, and another entitled ‘Flowers’ by Caoimhe Smyth, age 10, from Gainstown Mullingar, caught the eye of Mullingar-born competition adjudicator, artist, and lecturer in the visual arts, Eoin Butler, during the judging of entries for this year’s 56th Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
