Following a successful run in February, Carnmore/Claregalway group, Compántas Lir returns with their production of Shelagh Stephenson’s The Memory of Water. This will be performed in Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe from 25th-27th of March.

GALWAY THEATRE Festival has moved from being one of the last festivals in the city’s festival season, to one of its first - coming after Cúirt and the Galway Food Festival - as will now take place in May.

The poets Paul Durcan and John Montague, as well as the Booker nominated novelist Joseph O’Neill will read at the Cúirt International Festival of Literature which will  run from April 21 to 27 in venues across Galway city and county.

THERE WILL be a strong theatrical feel to this year’s Galway City St Patrick’s Day Parade, with theatre performers, costumes designers, and community groups involved in the preparations.

ON FRIDAY March 6 at 8pm, An Taibhdhearc will stage Oiche Mháire Stafford, an all-star commemorative evening in honour of the late Máire Stafford, who, for more than 60 years was involved with the theatre as an actor, director, translator, costume designer, and lyricist, fully earning her soubriquet ‘Queen of An Taibhdhearc’.

CARNMORE/CLAREGALWAY group, Compántas Lir grace the stage of Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe this month with its production of Shelagh Stephenson’s award-winning comedy, The Memory of Water. Galway audiences will have two opportunities to see this production, Sunday February 22 and again in March, FROM Wednesday 25-Friday 27.

DUE TO popular demand, Aisteoirí an Spidéil’s production of Boicíní Bhóthar Kilburn, which has played to full houses in An Taibhdhearc, returns for performances throughout the city and county.

THE MOST comprehensive presentation to date of the work of Gareth Kennedy, the award winning Irish artist, who co-represented Ireland at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009, opens this week in Galway.

DECEMBER 30, and as 2014 makes its valedictory bow, and takes its final curtain call, before tomorrow exiting the stage - to appreciative applause, naturally - while bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 2015 waits in the wings for its turn in the limelight.
