League leaders Straide and Foxford United will look to keep their place at the top of the Super League this weekend when they make the trip to Glenhest Rovers. Last weekend, the men from Green Road had a 3-1 win against fellow newly promoted side Achill Rovers at home. United hit their visitors hard in the first half and went in leading 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Kevin Langdon, Conor Sherry and John Durkan. A Kevin McGinty goal in the second half cut the gap back to two, but the home side were able to hold on for their fourth win of the season.

Six in court over Áras Attracta assaults

Six people were charged with assault in Swinford District Court, sitting in Ballina this moring arising out of incidents that occured at Áras Attracta care home in Swinford. The six were all staff members in the care home. The assaults are alleged to have taken place on dates between 6 and 17 November 2014.

Divisional cups kick-off this weekend

After the first four rounds of action across the different divisions in the Mayo League wrapped up last weekend the attention for all concerned turns towards the divisional cups this weekend with a full round of action in the Westaro, Tonra, Tuohy, and McDonnell cups.
