The Zip Yard, Ireland’s leading clothing and alterations boutique is delighted to have raised over €10,000 in support of this year’s Paint it Pink campaign in association with the Irish Cancer Society.

Mr Ireland Karl Bowe came to Athlone to support the Action Breast Cancer Pink Party at MOHH in Church Street on Wednesday last. He was dressed by Burgess Menswear for the evening.

Mayo’s efforts to paint the county pink in 2014 raised more than €90,500 for breast cancer research.

This year there are three different routes in three different distances – 50k, 110k, and 175k. The people of Mayo have been congratulated for successfully pinking up their county with the Centra Pink Umbrella Walk. The events, which took place across the county at the end of October, have been hailed a great achievement after local people turned out in great numbers to participate in the walk. This year, much to the delight of bike owners everywhere, participants will have a choice of not one but three cycle routes! While the traditional 100km route is very popular and is expected to draw the greatest interest, other options have now been added. For those who really want to cycle but are daunted by the challenge, the new 50km route should appeal, while for the whizz kids and the more seasoned cyclists among us 160km will be a fine test of stamina.
