Evergreen Healthfoods are next week hosting a unique cookery demonstration event in Moycullen in aid of the RNLI Galway Lifeboats. The event, entitled ‘Health from the Sea – a seaweed cookery demonstration by Dr Prannie Rhatigan’, takes place upstairs at The Forge Bar, Moycullen on Tuesday October 25 at 7:30pm.

The first Irish Geological Association (IGA) branch west of the Shannon was launched yesterday evening at 8pm in the geology museum (Quad building), at NUI Galway. Two Galway farmers’ markets have been awarded the Farmers’ Market Good Practice Standard for 2011 to 2013. The markets, in Moycullen and Roundstone, were among seven around the country which received the standard from Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Simon Coveney this week.
