Councillors angered by distribution of top-up roads funding

A number of elected members of the Claremorris Municipal District expressed their disappointment this week at how €440,000 in top-up funding for road works projects in the area was decided to be spent. Fianna Fáil Cllr Damien Ryan told the Mayo Advertiser yesterday: "Bar a very small corner near Claremorris, none of the money came to projects in the part of the district that is now part of the new Galway-West constituency for the General Election."

Inaugural festival with French flavour comes to Ballina

Bohola residents voice their concerns over speed limit

More than 150 local residence of Bohola gathered at the Community Centre in Bohola village to protest at the lack of progress in securing traffic calming measures through the village and the erection of 60km speed limits. The protest was organised to highlight to Mayo County Council, the National Roads Authority, and Government that all the residents of the village are fully behind the Bohola Traffic Calming Action Committee in their attempts to achieve a proper traffic management solution for the village.
