Exhibition: The Horse Show: Group Show

While viewing the exhibitions at the Galway Arts Festival box office in the former McDonagh/Instore building on No 5 Merchants Road last Saturday, it struck me that this building would be ideal to develop as a municipal art gallery for Galway city.

The Galway Arts Festival has become such an enormous event (in fact it is now an international event of significance), that it is a bit like the Lisbon Treaty: You can’t see all of it; and while many of us see its value to the community, there are parts of it I don’t quite like.

With one week down and one week to go the city continues to thrive on one of the most successful runs the Galway Arts Festival has ever seen. And things are only set to get better yet.

The Galway Arts Festival enjoyed its most successful year with this weeks festival breaking box office records and attendance figures significantly up from last year.
