Coyne Tyres — a family run business

The Coyne family name is synonymous with the tyre industry in Ireland. For four generations the Coyne family have been serving their customers. The Coyne family first started in the tyre business in Kilkelly in 1947 when John Coyne opened his garage. His son Pat Coyne Snr went on from there to work for Fit Kilkenny Remould as a representative on the road selling tyres to the same garages.

Q: My son is in Transition Year, but he hasn’t a clue what he wants to do after school. He’s mad into sports – plays a lot of rugby – and I also notice he has an interest in property: he’s forever checking out prices of properties, and he watches all of those home makeover and ‘a place in the sun’ type TV programmes.
