Todhchaí an Oireachtais i mbaol

“Níl mé in ann todhchaí an Oireachtais a fheiceáil faoin gcur chuige seo ina mbeadh muid ag brath ar chinneadh a dhéanfadh grúpa anaithnid ó am go ham i dtaobh tacaíocht airgid a thabhairt, nó a dhiúltú, dár n-iarratas. Faoin gcur chuige seo bheadh éagóir dhochreidte á dhéanamh ar Oireachtas na Gaeilge, institiúid a bunaíodh in 1897, 113 bliain ó shin, agus a bhí ceannródaíoch i gcothú measa agus ómóis ar an nGaeilge, ar nualitríocht na Gaeilge, ar chultúr na Gaeilge, agus ar ealaíona dúchasacha na Gaeilge. Is éagóir dhochreidte a bheadh ann dóibh siúd a d’oibrigh, ar bhonn deonach, ar feadh na mblianta le féile an Oireachtais a choinneáil ag imeacht. Is éagóir a bheadh ann dúinne atá fostaithe ar bhonn gairmiúil agus muid freagrach inniu as cur chun cinn na féile mar mhórócáid na bliana ag pobal na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta.”
