The Athlone St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee have announced a full schedule of events for St Patrick’s Day this year, and now all they need are the people of Athlone to come out and support the events.

MÍCHEÁL Ó Súilleabháin, a major figure in Irish music for his unique compositional style that marries Irish trad with classical, jazz, and world music, will play the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa on Friday March 19 at 8pm.

Kilkenny’s St Patrick’s Day Parade theme has been decided and the committee responsible for this year’s event have revealed that the theme this year is ‘Earth Parade’.

Plans are at an advanced stage for Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo which will be held in Claremorris on the weekend of May 8 and 9.
