Free places on social media applications and sales course at AIT

The Department of Lifelong Learning at the Athlone Institute of Technology has announced that it has received funding from Springboard to fund 25-plus part-time places on its newly developed certificate in social media applications and sales, HETAC Level 6, one year, part-time programme. The programme will be delivered in AIT over 16 hours delivered on Thursday and Friday, with the occasional Saturday, for one year commencing this December 12. The application deadline is Friday November 29.

Senior business figures allow their brains to be picked at SCCUL mentoring event

A new structured mentoring initiative where the expertise of leading business figures in Galway will be shared with small businesses was launched last Friday in Ballybane Enterprise Centre. Over 40 senior figures from the city’s business and commercial sector gathered for a briefing breakfast to launch SCCUL Mentors- a mentoring programme which will provide pro bono (free) access to business expertise and wisdom. The mentoring programme will be coordinated by SCCUL Enterprises and advice will provided in the key areas of Business planning, Finance, Sales, IT, Marketing & PR, Training and Development , HR Quality, and Research & Development

FÁS students receive FETAC certs on completion of their apprenticeships

Some 310 apprentices in the Midlands region recently received certification on completion of their apprenticeships. A presentation of certificates was made to 50 of these apprentices by Minister Willie Penrose last Friday October 14.
