GALWEGIANS THINKING of taking up a new creative endeavour for the autumn should check out the upcoming classes in the Galway Art Centre, Dominick Street, which include storytelling via comics, photography, and writing poetry.

FOR THOSE of us blessed with kids, or who can borrow kids, a highlight of the year is the Baboró International Arts Festival for Children. This September, Galway Arts Centre is offering aspiring poets a choice of three poetry workshops facilitated by renowned poet Kevin Higgins.

The first Over The Edge Open Reading after the summer break takes place in Galway City Library on Thursday August 27, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. The featured readers are Jessica Traynor, Matt Flesk, and Aoife Reilly.
