Representatives of the board of Údarás na Gaeltachta have met the Fianna Fáil leader Mícheál Martin and Fianna Fáil TDs Éamon Ó Cuív and Mícheál Kitt at Leinster House to discuss the Government’s decision to remove the democratic elections to the board of Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Galway Music Education Partnership (Galway MEP) has formally launched its bid to secure Music Generation Funds for the development of music education in Galway City and County. RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta has started a search to find the perfect Gaeltacht location in which to record their upcoming TV promo in June. It is asking Gaeltacht towns and villages in Galway who think that their area might have what it takes to get in touch with them.

Coláiste Néifinn is a newly founded Irish summer college in west Mayo for 12 to 15-year-olds. This college aims to bring life to our native language outside the Gaeltacht. The co-ordinators are two Irish teachers from west Mayo who have both been teaching Irish for nearly 10 years. They also have taught in several Gaeltacht colleges, so they can bring a lot of experience to Coláiste Néifinn in Castlebar.
