New figures released by the Central Statistics Office this week reveal that unemployment levels continue to rise. There has been a massive 95 per cent increase in the number of people claiming unemployment assistance on the same period last year. EirGrid, the operator of the national grid, will brief major stakeholders in Mullingar on their planned €310 million investment in electricity infrastructure in the Midlands region. This investment is part of the Grid25 strategy. The speaker on the day will be manager of Grid implementation, Aidan Corcoran.
