Tomorrow evening sees the Connacht Gold Super Cup quarterfinals down for decision as the league action takes a backseat for a weekend. The line-up sees Ballyglass host league leaders Westport United, Straide and Foxford United will tangle with Castlebar Celtic in Celtic Park, Achill Rovers will host Glenhest Rovers, and Ballyheane will travel north to take on Ballina Town.

From Rio to Rovers there’s been plenty highlights

In August all of Mayo were rooting behind one man, when Castlebar's Nicholas Quinn became the first Mayoman since 2008 to take part in the Olympic Games. The 23-year-old student won his heat in the 200m butterfly in a time of 2:11.67 but just missed out a place in the next round of the competition. He also took part in the 100m butterfly finishing fourth in his heat. The young Castlebar man returned to the county town to a hero's welcome after his efforts in Rio.

Claremorris come good against the big boys

After knocking out Ballyheane a couple of weeks ago many observers felt that Claremorris would not have enough in the tank to take out Ballina Town. They proved all their doubters wrong on Sunday afternoon as they booked their last four ticket following their 3-2 win over the Super League side in Concannon Park. Daniel Gorman had given Ballina an early lead with a smashing free-kick from 20 yards, but the south Mayo men regrouped and were rewarded as Dean Roddy opened his account after Simon Butler put him through on goal and it remained dead-locked at the break.
