To the right of that you can see the entrance to Higgins’ Garage (he was an agent for Ford cars), and to the right of that again, down a little alleyway, was the entrance to the Empire Theatre.

Queen honours Feeney for Mayo Peace Park work

€160,000 sanctioned in north Mayo for rural recreational projects

Fine Gael leader Dep Enda Kenny has welcomed funding sanctioned by the Department of Community, Rural, and Gaeltacht Affairs to Mayo County Council for providing and upgrading rural recreational projects in north Mayo. This funding will be used to extend the North Mayo Coastal Trail and develop a linear cycle route as part of the national cycle network as well as improved signage, parking, and toilet facilities in certain areas. It will form part of the €750,000 investment by Fóram Pobail Iarthuaisceart Mhaigh Eo’s plan for the area.
