Last week Coillte hosted a tree identification walk attended by Culleens National School as part of ESB Tree Week 2016. This was one of the events that Coillte hosted as part Tree Week 2016, along with a series of nature walks and tree planting events to inspire people to experience the positive role that trees play in our lives. In addition Coillte donated 15,000 trees that were planted by community groups and schools all around the country, bringing thousands of people together to get their hands dirty, and add more green to neighbourhoods all around the country.

People are being encouraged to walk off the festive excesses by making use of Coillte’s extensive forest parks and trail networks across Galway this Christmas.

The Western Care Christmas shop is now open at the Vocational Training Centre, Castlebar, selling Christmas trees supplied by Coillte from local sustainable forests, Christmas wreaths and cards and handmade crafts at competitive prices. All profits will go to Western Care local services.
