Strong interest at first Connacht Property Auction

The first Connacht Property Auction was held on November 14 at the Clayton Hotel in Galway. A large crowd attended the event and bidding was strong on the majority of the properties. Of the 27 properties offered, 22 were sold and the auction team confirmed that there have been further offers and bids on three of the unsold lots. More than €2,000,000 worth of property from across the region was sold at the sale and the reserve prices were well exceeded on many of the properties on offer.

Great results for Colleran’s auction

Colleran auctioneers continued its auction success last week when not alone did all properties sell, but they all sold well in excess of their advised minimum value. “These results certainly reflect what we have been seeing over the last number of months for properties in and around the city,” said Don Colleran. “There continues to be a demand for properties in the established residential areas of the town once properly priced, and this was certainly the case with our auction, with five to six bidders chasing each property, resulting in all exceeding their guide, one by almost 50 per cent.”

The belief within the 400 capacity crowd was that now is the time to re-enter the market with properties now starting to give an excellent return at a very low cost base.
