Massive jobs blow for Belmullet

The news that ICT Eurotel is to close its Belmullet base of operations has come as a huge blow to the area. The closure of the call centre will see 82 jobs lost and will be a detrimental blow to the community in the area. ICT Eurotel employed 39 full-time and 43 part-time staff in its Belmullet operation and is expected to have completely wound down its operations by October this year.

Powerboat games in Achill

Achill Belmullet Powerboat Club will host and organise the first ever National Powerboat Games in Ireland in conjunction with the ISA on Friday July 24 and Saturday July 25. It will begin with the opening on the Friday night, games/activities and competitions over Saturday and Sunday respectively, and the final presentation of prizes on Sunday night. The event is open to both ISA and non-ISA members. Club members pay €125 and non members pay €150. Special package price, four boats or more €100. Entry fee includes weekend club day ticket.

Linenhall host World Fleadh concerts

Finale to summer music series

Mayo County Council Arts Office Summer Music Series drew to a rapturous close in the spectacular setting of the Friary in Ballyhaunis. Matt Molloy, John Carty and Arty McGlynn treated the audience to a feast of traditional music.
