Colm O’Donnellan of auctioneers O’Donnellan & Joyce said they were delighted with the prices achieved and the tremendous response and bidding in the room. He said auctions are proving to be the best method of obtaining a sale on properties, and all the properties on offer had very realistic reserve prices, and the market decides the true value.

O’Donnellan & Joyce kicked off the 2012 auction season last week in a packed auction room in the Victoria Hotel, where nine properties went up for auction. The highlight of the afternoon was a petrol station with supermarket and off-licence in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, which was being offered for sale on the instructions of liquidators Edenville Trading Ltd and Conor O’Boyle of Commerce House, Flood Street, Galway.
