My name is Owen, and I'm a luthier from Cork. Fun fact, a luthier is a person who builds and repairs stringed musical instruments. I live in Cork but come to Galway regularly to visit family and check out the music scene. You don't have to go to a gig to see world class music, it's right there on the streets with some of the best buskers I've ever seen. Galway is a place where the weird and wonderful collide to create something new and unique. In my opinion, the people of Galway aren't just those living here, everybody who passes through is part of what makes it Galway. The city automatically welcomes you and makes you a member of the Galway tribe. You don't have to be from here, or even live here to feel at home and accepted. No matter who you are or where you're from, Galway feels like home while you're in it. It has the quaint cosy homely feel of a small town, with the bustle and events and melting pot of a large city. There is always something to do, and it's easy to make friends with all of these events going on.
