AN CRISIS, the new comedy series on TG4, has been nominated for a number of awards at the Monte Carlo Television Festival 2010.

The series is broadcast on TG4 on Wednesdays at 10.30pm with a repeat on Saturdays at 8.45pm. It chronicles the strange world of An Chomhairle Teanga, an Irish language organisation, its director Setanta De Paor (Risteárd Cooper ) who has to grapple with Government cutbacks, media scrutiny, questionable projects, a new Minister, and a series of oddball colleagues.

An Crisis is up for four awards at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, which takes place from June 6 to 10, and it is up against Tina Fey’s 30 Rock and The American Office.

An Crisis’ producers, Martha O’Neill and Micheál Ó Meallaigh, have been nominated for two awards - the Outstanding International Producer award and the Outstanding European Producer for a comedy TV series.

Conor MacNeill and Aprés Match’s Risteárd Cooper are up for the Outstanding Actor - Comedy TV Series award while Norma Sheahan and Michelle Beamish have been nominated for the Outstanding Actress – comedy TV series award.
