The Fregoli Heart Project returns

THE FREGOLI Heart Project, a theatre show about different forms of love, presented through movement, dance, imagery, storytelling, and voice, is being revived for a performance at NUI Galway this month.

Fregoli, in association with Drama, Theatre and Performance at NUIG, will stage The Fregoli Heart Project in the university's O’Donoghue Centre, on Thursday October 24, Friday 25, and Saturday 26 at 3pm.

In an era of borders,Trump, Brexit, Bolsonaro, the alt.right, and the politics of hate, ...Heart Project is an attempt to explore what is good in humanity - our capacity to love. It was drawn from stories, memories, and sketches by members of the public who responded to a call from Fergoli for such stories.

The show explores different forms of love - friendship, family, romantic, passion for sport, work, art - and how these loves affect our sense of self and belonging. It is about how we care, our expectations, acceptances, rejections, and our growths. It also asks how we love, who/what we love and in what spaces/places we feel love, what does love look and sound like, and how does love affect us?

Galway Advertiser's Charlie McBride has called the show "touching, funny, poignant, joyful, heartfelt and true...life-affirming and soul-gladdening as a good, scrunchy, hug". It is directed by Maria Tivnan, assisted by Eimear Finan. The cast is Eilish McCarthy, Kate Murray, Oisin Robbins and Jarlath Tivnan. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
