We are heading for mid April now and with the days are lasting a bit longer and the weather is improving (slightly). It is fair to say people are in a lot better fettle and in the mood for spring cleaning. And what better way to spruce up your home than a lick of paint and a bit of decorating.

€5 million has been generated by local business people in Mayo as a result of effective business networking. The St Colman's BNI group who meet locally in Claremorris every Tuesday morning in the McWilliam Park Hotel is made up of 23 business people who work together to build the local economy. The St Colman's BNI group supports more than 100 jobs locally with this set to grow in the coming months with new business wins among members.

Custom House Studios hosts Quadrants, an exhibition of paintings by  Tom Climent opening at Custom House Studios, Westport Quay, on Thursday January 26 at 7.30pm. The exhibition runs every day until February 19. Tom  Climent  is a painter from Cork. His recent works focus on creation of a structured space, while investigating the boundaries between abstraction and representation.

Moods, Memories, and Mayo is the title of a new exhibition of paintings by Paul Guilfoyle which is currently running at the Kenny Gallery and continues until Friday December 23. It is Guilfoyle’s ninth solo show at the Kenny Gallery, a relationship that goes all the way back to 1993 and his debut exhibition, Looking West.
