The Irish Film Institute presents A Mayo Ciné-Concert, a fascinating programme of archival films about Mayo accompanied by live music performance at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Tuesday, February 5 at 8pm. This remarkable programme of films from the IFI Irish Film Archive features films made in and about Mayo by amateur and professional filmmakers. It includes: Whaling Afloat and Ashore - the earliest documentary made in Ireland filmed at a whaling station on Iniskea in 1908.
