For over 51 years, the Kilkenny Group has been synonymous with supporting Irish craft and design. As we lead in to our third annual Kilkenny Irish Craft & Design Week (running until Sunday next, this year sponsored by AXA) I have been reflecting on the reasons we decided to start this campaign back in 2012 and on how it has grown year on year.

Inspired by the Year of Craft 2011, a year-long celebration of craft in Ireland (http://www.craftinireland.com), a group of about 20 Westmeath-based crafters has come together under the ‘Made in Westmeath’ banner.
