Galway athletes once again impressed on the national stage with two golds and a host of medals from the National Junior and U23 Track and Field finals in Tullamore on Saturday.

Galway Ladies team are top of the premier division after a superb team performance at round one of the National Track and Field League in Athlone IT.

There is no stopping Conor Dolan in this year's Galway 5km Series. The GHC athlete strode to a fourth successive win in the recent Loughrea event, clocking 16.42 for the win, ahead of Timmie Glavey of Mayo AC and Kevin Bartholomew of Craughwell AC.

Galway's Sean Breathnach was arguably the athlete at the National Masters track and field championships, dominating the throws M35 category as expected.
