The board of the Mayo Sports Partnership has announced details of its upcoming Special Participation Grant Scheme for 2011. This scheme invites clubs and organisations which have sport/recreation as their central focus to submit proposals which would increase participation among target groups such as youth at risk, disadvantaged communities, unemployed, women, Travelling community, disabilities and ethnic minorities. This may include setting up new clubs or additional activities which would increase participation within existing organisations.  

Operation Transformation brings some family fun to Athlone

RTÉ’s Operation Transformation TVseries is teaming up again with the Irish Sports Council to bring you a great family sports day this Saturday February 5. The event will take place in AIT, where experts in a range of sports will be on hand to guide you through the basics of a wide variety of sporting activities. All five leaders from the programme and fitness expert Karl Henry and medical doctor Dr Eva Orsmonde will be there drumming up support for the family day of fun.
