The head of a national meningitis support and awareness organisation is appealing to the public to be vigilant in the wake of an increase in meningococcal disease (the leading cause of meningitis in this country) recently.

ACT for Meningitis, the Irish national Meningitis Support and Awareness Charity, has launched a Free Life Saving App, which allows parents and individuals to check the signs and symptoms of Meningitis at the push of a button.
