One of Ireland’s most renowned actors and performers, Des Keogh, is to perform his sparkling new one-man show My Fair Ladies at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday next (June 24) at 8pm.

CHAROLAIS IS an age-old tale of female rivalry with a new twist: the other ‘woman’ is a purebred Charolais heifer. A farmer devotes considerable attention to his prize heifer at the expense of his very pregnant girlfriend Siobhan, who in turn has developed a homicidal jealousy for this Charolais and is feeling equally murderous towards her snobbish soon-to-be mother-in-law.

CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED Irish indie bands will be taking to the stage of the Róisín Dubh over the coming Wednesday nights for the monthly Citóg gigs, with folk-blues, rock, electro, and acoustic genres well to the fore. Admission to all three shows are free. Doors are at 9pm.
